When I went to Manila for the Wordcamp Philippines, I decided to meet up with my friends from UP-ORG. I have not seen most of them since 1997. Anyways, because of Facebook and text messaging, we all managed to converge and we decided to meet at 77 Bar Cafe Resto in Kamuning.
The trip from Cagayan de Oro was swift. I arrived at the Kabayan Hotel at 6pm and after a swift check in, I unpacked my things and decided that the best mode of transport from Pasay to Cubao is my MRT. I cringed. Its funny how I have lived in Manila for many years, not counting the 4 years in UP… I never had the chance to take the MRT.

October 2 will remain etched in my memory. Twas the day I met Matt Mullenweg, the Founder of Automattic and Developer of WordPress, the CMS that powers all my websites. I have been a WordPress user for more than 7 years. I started blogging with Typepad then I wanted more control over my site and moved to Moveable Type. That was the time when blogging meant posting family pictures and writing about my trip here and abroad. After the birth of lifediscourse.com, I decided that I needed to compartmentalize my website and decided on a niche and since I am very interested on personal finance, Pinoy Frugal Living was born.

Today is my brother’s 8th year death anniversary. In remembrance of his life, his wife scheduled a mass near his grave site. It was surreal, 8am, and the day started off quite early for me. Having done my work prior to changing and heading for Greenhills Memorial Park in Bulua, Cagayan de Oro City, I quickly whipped breakfast for my children and took a cab.
